Omar Asghar Khan Foundation

Women’s Political Participation (WPP)

In unwavering support of WPP the Foundation has designed multiple voter education and mobilization campaigns since 2005. Working closely with the Election Commission of Pakistan and NADRA, the Foundation uses census-block based data on voters’ registration to map hotspots, mobilize unregistered voters and arrange community-based mobile NADRA services to help women and other marginalized groups obtain a NIC and use their right to vote. It also forms women leaders groups, engages youth activists and volunteers and delivers training in democratic politics and citizenship rights. In 2018 General Elections, the Foundation’s comparative analysis tracking party commitments to women’s interests in the 2013 and 2018 election manifestos assisted issue-based voting.
