Resilient Rehabilitation
From 2005 the Foundation has regularly provided prompt relief assistance to communities affected by humanitarian crises like the 2005 earthquake, the 2010 and 2025 floods, and displacement due to insecurity since 2009. The Foundation working in partnership with communities also supported longer-term rehabilitation, including rebuilding of water supply, retaining walls, water mills, community hydropower facilities, walkways, bridges and roads damaged by the natural disasters. Training and credit were provided to restore livelihoods, especially of women. Children were given psychosocial support. Affected communities were assisted in preparing village and union council rehabilitation plans that also reduced their risks to future climate shocks.
