A delegation of 15 members from Aawaz II’s Provincial Forum in Punjab met with Mr. Nazar Hussain Shah, Secretary and other senior officials of KP’s Social Welfare Department. The meeting was arranged by #omarashgarkhanfoundation, the lead partner in KP to #AawazII. Syeda Nudrat, Gender Specialist, provided details of the district-level network of Darul Amans, the Bolo Helpline for women at risk of GBV, the Transgender Rights Policy, and impending legislation on the Rights of PWDs. Secretary Nazar Ali Shah recognised Aawaz II’s sustained efforts to mobilize and reach the more vulnerable in local communities which aligned well with the Department’s mandate.

The Punjab delegation shared experiences of providing legal and psychosocial support in DUAs and Women’s Crisis Centres.
