A 15-member delegation of Aawaz II’s Provincial Forum from Punjab visited an AAC in Akora Khattak as part of an inter-provincial exchange aimed at sharing experiences between the programme’s stakeholders in Punjab and KP. The delegation included representatives from the Punjab Women Protection Authority, Local Government Department, the Punjab Regional Office of the National Commission for Human Rights, civil society and district partners.The meeting was arranged by #omarashgarkhanfoundation, the lead partner in KP to #AawazII.

Under Aawaz II, 450 AACs have been established across 36 districts of KP and Punjab. These are local-level facilities engaging communities and providing information, referrals, training and networking support.

The delegation met members of the local Aawaz II Village Forum and community volunteers who are leading efforts to prevent early age marriages and promote interfaith harmony. “The work of diverse community volunteers, especially in a conservative society, is impressive and inspiring,” commented Mr. Waheed Ahmed of the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women.
