Budgets
Omar Asghar Khan Foundation equips and energizes governments, legislatures and civil society organizations to champion data-driven budgets that reduce disparities and make a difference in people’s lives. It analyses budget allocations and spending to determine how public finance decisions affect citizens, especially those disadvantaged due to intersecting identities of gender, poverty, location, faith and ability. Budgets are assessed for their impact on the delivery of services like education, health, roads, water and transport. Investments in gender equality, economic growth, social inclusion and climate resilience are also evaluated. Data generated by budget analysis informs and leverages actions for equitable and impactful management of public resources. The Foundation has proven competencies in analysing budgets and delivering customised training on understanding and assessing budgets for legislators, government officials and civil society actors.
