The Provincial Forum discussed updates on actions to support prevention of GBV and child marriage and the promotion of social inclusion. Key decisions taken by the Forum are:

• Assist the KP Commission on the Status of Women (KPCSW), under the leadership of the newly appointed Chair, Dr. Sumera Shams, to define its priorities, especially in relation to GBV and the inclusion of women in all their diversity in governance and facilities.
• Advance family laws for religious minorities, including Hindu, Christian and Kalash communities.
• Recommend passage of the PWDs Rights Bill and promote inclusive access to the Disabled Persons Rehabilitation (DPR) funds.
• Support the establishment of three pilot Tahaffuz (for transgender persons) and Meesaq (for non-Muslim citizens) Centres in Peshawar and Abbottabad.

The 15-members delegation from Aawaz II Provincial Forum Punjab also participated in the meeting.The meeting was arranged by #omarashgarkhanfoundation, the lead partner in KP to #AawazII.They appreciated information on efforts made in KP and shared their experiences from Punjab. “Sustaining Meesaq and Tahaffuz Centres is important,” said Ghulam Abbas from the Punjab Regional Office of the National Commission for Human Rights. Ms. Muneeza Butt of the Punjab Women Protection Authority shared the experience of rolling out Women’s Crisis Centres in the province.
