Rainwater Harvesting & Aquifer Recharge

10 rainwater harvesting reservoirs and 10 aquifer recharge facilities are being constructed in public institutions like the school for the hearing impaired, sanatzar (women’s vocational centre), district council and the local church in Okara with support from the Catalytic Fund of the Water Resources Accountability in Pakistan (WRAP) project managed by a consortium led by Oxford Policy Management which includes #omarasgharkhanfoundation as a partner. The project in Okara is implemented by Sungi Development Foundation in collaboration with Punjab’s Irrigation Department, the PCRWR and local communities. WRAP-CF’s team visited Okara on 15 December 2025 to review the project’s implementation and meet its government and community stakeholders.

WRAP is a 7-year (2021-28) GBP30 million project funded by FCDO.
