Resilient Rehabilitation
From 2006-12 the Foundation provided prompt relief assistance to communities most severely affected by the 2005 earthquake, the 2010 and 2025 floods, and other humanitarian crises. The Foundation worked in partnership with communities on longer-term rehabilitation, supporting the rebuilding of water supply, retaining walls, water mills, community hydropower facilities, walkways, bridges and roads damaged by the natural disasters. Training and credit was provided to restore livelihoods, especially of women. Affected communities were also assisted in shaping village and union council rehabilitation plans that also reduced their risks to future climate shocks.
