Mr. Ali Asghar Khan

Chairperson

 

Architect. Manages his own architectural practice since mid-1980s. Has extensive experience in political mobilization and has maintained close contact with local people in Districts Abbottabad and Haripur since the mid-1970s.

 

 

Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry

 

 

 

Former Chairperson, Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan. Dr. Chaudhry has a distinguished track record in public policy. He also has extensive experience in research, and the academia. Dr. Chaudhry presently heads the Lahore School of Economics.

 

 

Ms. Khawar Mumtaz

 

 

Well-known activist with more than 20 years’ of experience. Ms. Mumtaz has played a leadership role in Pakistan’s women’s movement. She is the author of several books and publications. Ms. Mumtaz has also served as the Regional Counselor of IUCN-The World Conservation Union.

 

 

Ms. Moneeza Hashmi

 

 

With over 20 years’ experience in the media, Ms. Hashmi is well-respected and known. She has held senior management positions in the state-run Pakistan Television and is presently the General Manager of the Lahore office of an independent TV network.

 

 

Ms. Shahida Tanoli

 

 

 

Development activist. Played a key role in implementing the nationally and internationally acclaimed program of SUNGI Development Foundation from 1993-2003. Has extensive experience in participatory reflection and action, social mobilization, and training.

 

 

Mr. Kamran Sadiq

 

 

Development consultant. Has extensive experience in a variety of fields including micro finance and credit, infrastructure development, institutional management, finance and accounting systems, etc.

 

 

Ms. Kausar S. Khan

 

 

 

Women’s rights activist and health practitioner. Has extensive experience of advocating gender justice. Is a faculty member of the Aga Khan University & Hospital where she teaches community health sciences. Has played a central role in introducing and promoting participatory reflection and action. Is a skilled trainer.

 

 

Mr. Younus Tanoli

 

 

Practicing lawyer, former Attorney General of NWFP. Has extensive understanding of local political dynamics and has good contacts in Districts Abbottabad/Haripur.

 

 

Ms. Naseem Jaffar

 

Social worker and philanthropist. Has played a leadership role in setting up Kidney Center and Murshid Hospital in Karachi.
